Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 often referred to professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female signing for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The first album she released on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 Five Finger Discount. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued uploading her music on the internet, as well as her own single Bound. On July 21st, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her sing her songs for the Dreamville Team later that year, as he wanted Rihanna to work with her on some references. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna was signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she sang alongside Cozz in the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018, she appeared on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. And Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video was released on September 5th. Her second single, Grampa on November 9. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February 2019 her music video to this track was launched. It has had over 3 million YouTube views in just a single week. In December 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
